The Harvest Festival celebrates the sugar cane crushing season in the Burdekin Shire. The festival's extensive program of events culminates in a street parade and mardi gras in Home Hill. The festival begins on October 9 with the third installment of Cane Fields Emphemera. Oktoberfest will also return as part of the festival and the street parade and mardi gras on November 7 will conclude the festival.
