Ashworths was founded in 1948, initially selling kitchenware and gifts in Ayr before expanding to jewellery, watches, gem-cutting and jewellery-making supplies. Today, Ashworths specialises in selling and repairing gold and silver jewellery, watches and batteries. It wasn't until 1984 that the Treasurers of the Earth Gallery was created by the Ashworth family.
