Our Business Members are investing in the future of our Tourism Industry. Income generated from membership enables us to effectively market and promote local businesses and tourism operators as well as undertake research and provide opportunities to develop local tourism.

Gold Member

  • Alva Beach Tourist Park tucked away in the small coastal village of Alva and just a 15km drive from the town of Ayr and Burdekin Shire. We are located a few hundred metres at the back of the dunes of the beach. The park consists of 5 acres of tropical grounds with park sites and cabins set amongst coconut palms and hibiscus hedges. We offer powered and non- powered sites with or without slabs. We have En-suite Cabins that can sleep up to six persons or budget cabins that will sleep up to 4 persons.

  • Groper Creek became popular for fishing expeditions to Beachmount and Cape Upstart. Today the small fishing community's population is made up of around 50 permanent residents, mostly being retirees. In holiday seasons the population balloons to over 300 with visitors flocking to the caravan park located on the bank of Groper Creek. Many of the visitors come to take advantage of local fishing and crabbing.

  • The western shore of Upstart Bay has four beaches between the southern channel of the Burdekin River, Groper Creek and Molongle Creek. All four are accessible by vehicle and have some degree of fishing shack and holiday settlements. Molongle Creek Beach (901) is a 700 m long strip of north facing sand formed on the east side of the creek mouth and a easily accessible caravan park for visitors to stay and enjoy the area.

We are in a great location at the end of Ayr's main street visible from the truck detour. We are handy to the main shopping strip in Ayr, with its diverse mix of retailers and excellent cafes.
