Our Business Members are investing in the future of our Tourism Industry. Income generated from membership enables us to effectively market and promote local businesses and tourism operators as well as undertake research and provide opportunities to develop local tourism.

Below is a list of our current Business Members. Please support those businesses who are supporting the local tourism industry.

Gold Member

  • Enjoy your stay with a typical Australian family who genuinely care about backpackers. Ayr Backpackers are a well regarded working backpackers hostel in the Burdekin region.

    Ayr Backpackers main aim is to provide backpackers with valid working visas a paid position in one of the local farms or businesses so the backpacker can earn money for further travels or to apply for the second working holiday visa.

  • The Ayr Nature Display is Australia's finest, preserved collection of butterflies, moths, beetles, crustaceans, sea shells, reptiles, rocks, timber, aboriginal stone implements and fossils, especially ammonites, all under one roof.

  • Groper Creek became popular for fishing expeditions to Beachmount and Cape Upstart. Today the small fishing community's population is made up of around 50 permanent residents, mostly being retirees. In holiday seasons the population balloons to over 300 with visitors flocking to the caravan park located on the bank of Groper Creek. Many of the visitors come to take advantage of local fishing and crabbing.

  • The Burdekin Machinery Preservationists is a working museum where machinery enthusiasts come together to showcase machinery from around the region and do their best to get it working back to its former glory.

    The museum, located in Brandon, features a display of old farm machinery, stationary engines, tractors and cars.

  • Lyn and Greg Miller Invite you to stop and stay on their farm and experience this great district we call the Burdekin. This is a working cane farm, however, we have a plot of Mango trees overlooking the creek. We have a number of powered and non powered sites and water is available.  An abundance of wildlife will keep you busy as will the bird life.

  • Your fastest link to Magnetic Island.

    Conducting up to 17 daily return services to Magnetic Island, SeaLink can have you in paradise in only 20 minutes on one of our state-of-the-art, high-speed catamarans. In addition to the Magnetic Island service, SeaLink North Queensland also operates a service to Palm Island 6 times per week for the Indigenous community.

  • Cape Palmerston Holiday Park is set on 63 acres adjacent to a quiet, secluded beach at the northern end of the Isaac Coast. The rural outlook towards distinctive Mt Funnel creates a relaxing atmosphere that lets you re-energise and re-invigorate. Kangaroos and wallabies graze the open grasslands whilst many species of birds inhabit the coastal woodlands.

    Caravans, RVs, motorhomes and campers are all warmly welcomed. The park offers spacious drive-through sites with gardens, concrete slabs, power, water and sullage and a cassette only dump point is available near the top rated amenities and camp kitchen. Powered and unpowered parkland camping area is set close to the 100 metre nature walk to the beach. Glamping Bungalows, close to the facilities, are available with queen bed and linen, single bunks, tv, fridge, sofa, table and seats - camping with style.

  • Located in the Burdekin region, they are a diverse group of people from many different backgrounds who love Jesus and love people. As a part of the Australian Christian Churches, they are passionate about seeing people find their calling to God with an opportunity to use their lives to build the Kingdom of God here on Earth. Their Sunday Service is at 9am each Sunday and they would love you to join.

  • The Iron Works Brewery recently started pouring beers in their bar at the historic foundry of the Delta Iron Works in March 2023. The brewery has a total of 8 beers on tap that have been all brewed on site as well as a selection of wines and spirits along with pizza.
