The Ayr Courthouse was built in 1935 is now a heritage-listed building that still performs the function for which it was built, with court hearings held there weekly. The red brick building features an arched entrance marked with a decorative parapet. The wide, enveloping verandahs have timber balustrades and paired posts on brick piers. It was designed by Douglas Francis Woodcraft Roberts and built from 1935 to 1941 by day labour. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 13 January 1995.
