Why Should I Become Involved?
Becoming a member of the VIC’s will be an investment in the future of our Visitor Economy.
The proceeds from our business membership program enables us to effectively market and promote the local businesses and tourism operators as well as undertake research and provide opportunities to further develop the visitor economy.
As a member you will be invited to participate in promotional activities and networking opportunities. You will receive information on workshops, functions and funding opportunities from TEL, TEQ and the Government agencies. Business members will receive the opportunity to display their marketing material in both the Burdekin VICs located in Ayr and Home Hill.
Depending on the membership level selected, there will be a number of opportunities to present your brand at various events and through our digital and traditional media channels.
Membership categories have been revised for 2023/24 to offer our members more choice and greater value.
Gold
As a Gold member, you can take advantage of a comprehensive range of marketing opportunities. This includes promotion through our social media channels and use of additional advertising space and digital media at our VICs.
Silver
Silver members are provided the chance to create greater exposure of their business by collaborating with us on various tourism related events and workshops throughout the year. In addition to this some presence is offered across our range of marketing channels.
Bronze
This introductory level of membership offers local businesses valuable exposure in our VICs as well as invitations to networking and tourism events throughout the year.
Explore
This category is for events, community organisations and tourism operators in the broader region who only require their marketing material to be presented at Burdekin VICs.

Membership Conditions
As a financial member of the VICs, we ask that the following requirements be met:
- All Gold and Silver Members must have a listing on the ATDW website. (Council can assist with the initial listing on ATDW).
- Advise Council if your business details change (phone number, email, opening hours) so your listing is maintained accurately.
- Members shall not advertise or promote their business in misleading or deceptive ways.
- It is the responsibility of the member to ensure adequate supply of brochures to the VIC’s. (Council will contact your business when supply is running low.)
- Members are responsible for delivering display material to the VIC sites at their own expense.
(*) Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW)
ATDW is Australia’s national platform for listing tourism-related businesses and events. Listings from ATDW are the information that displays on dozens of websites including Australia.com and Queensland.com.
Gold and Silver members qualify for a $50 discount on your ATDW listing. Council will contact you to organise a time to set up your listing once your application and payment have been received.
